I am looking to get in contact with a gentleman named Tom Dadisman. It is regarding tracing down the pedigree on an 8" Muffoletto Optical f/15 lens made back in the late 70's that I ended up with and built a nice refractor out of about 3 years ago.....Mr Dadisman sold it about 10 years ago and had it for quite some years. I have quite a bit of documentation on the lens from back when it was made and I obtained it from someone who bought it from him about 5 years ago. As far as I can find out it was never installed in a scope until I obtained it. He lived and worked out in your area for some years and hopefully is still around. Based on the ad he placed on Astromart when he sold it initially Mr Dadisman was an avid astronomer for 30+ years and it is my hope that someone may know him and put us in touch. He has not however been active on Astromart or Cloudy Nights (I am a moderator there) for close to 10 years. It turned out to be an exceptional lens both IF testing wise and also performance wise. Not a big deal but if at all possible I would like to trace it all the way back from my hands to Muffoletto. I have spoken to the group of opticians who worked at Muffoletto Optical back then. They even IF tested it for free just to get to play with a lens from back in the day.
I can be reached at shaft0001@earthlink.net or via Cloudy Night as "GShaffer"
