What a wonderful night! I understand we had close to 100 people! Got to “first light” my new 20” in a dark sky and it did not disappoint. Looking forward to the next chance to get together!

How will we find you if we come there? Also,  we don't have a telescope. Are there ones we can look through?

UPDATE: Forecast is for clear slides but temperatures in the 30s. Wear warm clothes! (I wear long johns, sweater, coat, winter hunting overalls, hat and mittens with gloved fingers and sometimes will bring rechargeable hand warmers to stay toasty warm while observing in the cooler temps!)

Join us on Friday, November 5th from 7 – 9 PM at the Florissant Fossil Beds Visitor Center as we explore the Winter Sky.

Winter is upon us and while for some it can bring snow, it also brings crisp and dark skies (Be prepared for cooler temperatures in the Mountains!). We’ll have new celestial objects to view and share through our telescopes. Our view of the universe changes as we orbit the Sun so different times of year also bring us different stars and constellations to see and enjoy. Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is a great place to see these astonishing wonders of the sky through the telescopes of Colorado Springs Astronomical Society members.
Please join us!

NOTE: As the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is a fee area, they charge a small nominal fee of $10 per person age 16 and older (but it’s worth it!).
