UPDATE: July 23rd 3 PM...After a review of forecast weather conditions and risks, The Trails, Open Spaces and Parks, the Space Foundation Discovery Center and the CSASTRO Organizers of this event have jointly decided to cancel this one and hope for better weather at the next one.
Come explore the night sky in a local open space!
Since the dawn of time, humans have tilted their heads back and gazed at the wonders of the night sky. Family Star Party connects kids and families to the wonders of the cosmos in ways ranging from Galileo and his first telescope to the future of space exploration with the Webb Space Telescope and more. Join the Space Foundation, Trails and Open Spaces Coalition and Colorado Springs Astronomical Society for an outdoor Star Party in the trails and open spaces, as we look to the stars and discover the wonders of the universe. This event looks to create a fun, learning environment for the whole family and inspire the next generation of astronomy enthusiasts!
CSASTRO Outreach Volunteers: We'll be setting up our telescopes in the "Picnic Lot" area of the parking lot (The parking lot in the far East section accessed from the main parking lot entrance). There will be attendees there to help guide you to the setup location. Attendees will be parking in the main lot so we'll not have any issues with headlights!
This event is FREE, but participants must register in advance. Register here: https://coloradosprings.gov/st.....
