UPDATE Aug 4th 10:20AM: The team has jointly decided to cancel due to forecast cloudy skies preempting any ability to view the Sun!

Enjoy a fun SUN-day in the park on Sunday. Dave Warner, a NASA Solar System Ambassador, will be at the Visitor Center parking area from 9 AM – 12 PM showing live views of the Sun through a telescope specially made to view the Sun’s atmosphere. While enjoying safe views of the Sun’s surface you can also learn about the positive and negative impacts of the Sun on our planet. What benefits does the Sun provide humankind (and plants and animals)? Can the Sun’s rays harm us? And if so, how do we protect ourselves? Learn this and more about our closest star, the Sun!
