UPDATE MARCH 3, 2022: This event has been cancelled due to forecast weather conditions. After consulting the latest National Weather Service (NWS) forecast for Florissant tomorrow night the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society (CSASTRO) and Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument staff have made the difficult decision to cancel the program scheduled for Friday, March 4th, 7-9 PM. We look forward to our many other upcoming programs throughout the community when weather conditions are more favorable.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Join us on Friday, March 4th from 7-9 PM at the Florissant Fossil Beds Visitor Center as we explore the Winter Sky.
Winter brings cooler weather to the Colorado mountains (dress warm!) but as our view of the universe changes as we orbit the Sun it also brings us different stars and constellations to see and enjoy. The dark skies of Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is a great place to see these astonishing wonders of the sky through the telescopes of Colorado Springs Astronomical Society members.
Please join us!
NOTE: As the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is a fee area, they charge a small nominal fee of $10 per person age 16 and older (but it’s worth it!).
