Colorado Springs Astronomical Society will be hosting a live virtual star party on Saturday, December 19th, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM using GoToMeeting software. The meeting link will be open to join at 5 PM if you’d like to join early to ensure your microphones and webcams are working (though neither are required to watch!).
Here is the tentative schedule:
5:30 PM: Welcome and introductions
5:40 PM: Live views of Jupiter/Saturn Conjunction (weather and equipment permitting)
6:00 PM: Live views of the Moon
NOTE: If live views of the planets and Moon are not available, I’m requesting our local astrophotographers join us to share and talk about pictures they’ve taken of the celestial sights.
6:30 PM: A child-friendly talk by Dave Warner: “The Search For Spock: the hunt for life on other planets”
7:15 PM: Q&A and open discussion
