SUN-Day in the Park, Bear Creek Nature Center, Saturday, June 22nd, 9 am – Noon

Event Details

Even Saturdays can be a SUN-day. CSASTRO will be set up outside the Bear Creek Nature Center on Saturday, June 22nd from 9 am – Noon to share views of the Sun though special Solar Telescopes operated by CSASTRO members. These telescopes enable amazing views of surface features, filaments, prominences and flares on the Sun that can’t be seen with ordinary telescopes or eclipse glasses. We’ll also have a UV detecting Bead Bracelet making station with info about how UV light is used by some animals to find food and how it can be harmful to humans (and how to protect ourselves from said harm).

This event is free and open to the public and if interested you can stop by anytime between 9 am – Noon to come take a look through our telescopes and go on a nature hike in the park.
