Eleven Mile Reservoir State Park Star Party, Saturday, July 13th, 9 – 11 PM

Event Details

Colorado Springs Astronomical Society (CSASTRO) will be setting up telescopes in the parking lot/playground area across from the North Marina at Eleven Mile Reservoir State Park for observations of the Moon and other celestial sights.

CSASTRO member volunteers with knowledge of the night sky will be bringing out their various types of telescopes for free-and-open to the public viewing. Once dark enough (around 9:45 PM) we’ll also plan to do a Green Laser Pointer tour to point out some of the major constellations, the Milky Way, and tell some star stories.

State Park fees apply. As the event is weather dependent, please watch for cancellation notices if weather forecasts exceed safe observing criteria. CSASTRO will coordinate with the park in the 24 hours prior to the event to make a final go/no-go decision and will post any updates on their Facebook and website (CSASTRO.ORG) pages.
