I have been involved with astronomy since the late 1960s. We just moved here from Greenville, NC. I am a member of the Raleigh Astronomy Society, but because of the long drive to Raleigh and Covid 19 it was all remote participation. Prior to moving to NC in late 2016, we lived in Knoxville, TN where I was an active member of the Smoky Mountain Astronomical Society holding every club office including president 3 times. I am most proud of starting the annual public star party in the Smoky Park National Park in cooperation with the Ranger Service in 2005 which continues to today. This event has attracted many visitors including 2 starparties with more than 800 participants.
My current interest is astro-imaging with a goal of robotic operation of the system. I also love visual astronomy having a 13.1" dobsonian, a C-8, and a C-11
