What We Do
CSAS is made up of amateur astronomers who volunteer their time, energy, and equipment to helping the community enjoy the night sky!
- We bring our telescopes to public star parties.
- We get together to look at the stars.
- We mentor new people with using their equipment and learning about astronomy.
- We also answer the call of teachers and groups in the community who ask for volunteers to show their children or other special group what is in the sky.
- We participate in the outreach programs of the Night Sky Network
- We are a member society of both the International Dark Sky Association and the Astronomical League.
- CSAS administers the Astronomical League’s Earth Orbiting Satellite Observers Club
- CSAS hosts the yearly Rocky Mountain Star Stare!
