This is the day we need as many volunteers as possible to come to Starry Meadows in Gardner to help.
We will working on the following projects:
- Clean up down trees from the winter and to continue fire mitigation of the forested areas we haven’t yet thinned and pruned. If you are planning to help with this project, please bring eye and ear protection, gloves and boots.
- Prepare Town Hall for RMSS
- Adjust sliding doors and install foot plates
- Set up device charging station and microwave area
- Install cord reels
- Install gable vent fans
- General cleanup and maintenance
- Observatory (Astrophotography group)
- Mount the 14” telescope
- Work on the Observatory dome
- Pour concrete slab for the observatory steps
CSAS will provide a BBQ lunch of burgers and brat’s, water/sodas and chips.
Some of the town hall/observatory work may run into the next day. If you are able to stay overnight, we could sure use the help.
