Space Foundation Family Star Party, Wednesday, June 27, 8-10 PM

Inspire the next generation of astronomy enthusiasts with a fun, learning environment for the whole family.

The entire event is from 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM but the astronomy portion will run 8-10 PM.

Admission is free, but donations to the Space Foundation are welcome.

Chamber Orchestra of the Springs and the Space Foundation presents a free concert – DESTINATION: SPACE, a community event of science and art in partnership with the Space Foundation of Colorado Springs featuring original music by local composer Jonathan Peters, visuals from NASA, hands-on activities, educational exhibits, an instrument petting zoo and a family star viewing party.

Activities Include:

  • Chamber orchestra music and NASA videos (5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.)
  • Telescope Viewing of Jupiter and moons (8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.)
  • Gas Giant Art Creations
  • Science On a Sphere® Presentations
  • Destination: Space Concert at 6:00 p.m. – RSVP for preferred time slot – Seats are full!
  • Destination: Space Concert at 7:30 p.m. – RSVP for preferred time slot – Seats are full!

Other INFO: The Moon will be nearly full and 0.9 degrees from Saturn which is at opposition on this night and rising at Sunset. Venus and Jupiter will be high in the sky. A lot of great observing opportunities for one and all to enjoy.
