I have been interested in the space sciences since I watched mankind walk on the Moon. After retiring from the Armed Services with time in the Army and Air Force Reserves I finally bought my first telescope in 2011. I needed help learning the night sky so I joined CSAS in 2011 and discovered all of the great people that are CSAS members and learned about the opportunities that existed to get involved.

As an accomplished photographer, I had initially planned to learn to do astrophotography but in the process of learning to use my telescope, I got caught up in science education and is now my primary focus as a CSAS member.

As my background includes time working as an outdoor school counselor, a YMCA Camp Counselor, a youth soccer coach and five years of teaching satellite communications. I realized upon joining CSAS that I could use these skill sets in a positive way to educate our community about Astronomy and Space Science and encourage Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) career pathways for our youth.

While I still dabble in astrophotography, in 2017 I became the Director of Outreach for CSAS. It is my top priority to continue the efforts of those that preceded me to refine and improve the astronomy and space science education that we uniquely provide to our community.
