Gravity and Getting Into Orbit
Join the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society at the Dinosaur Resource Center in Woodland Park (201 S Fairview St, Woodland Park, CO 80863) on Saturday, January 27th from 11:30 – 1:30 PM as we explore gravity. Using buckets, flexible fabric and balls of different weights, we’ll investigate what happens to space around objects of different sizes. What does it take to send up a rocket into orbit or to leave Earth altogether? Is it easier to escape the gravity of the Earth or the Moon?
Come explore a marvelous world class museum here in Woodland Park. They feature an awe-inspiring display of dinosaurs, prehistoric marine reptiles, pterosaurs and fish of North America’s late Cretaceous period.
