This is from October 7, 2009 – thought it was interesting for 2 reasons —
- The President acknowledged two teenagers who discovered stellar phenomena. This is impressive and I really hope that more and more of our young people will share that interest and passion for science and the stars.
- There was a telescope (and presumably more although you couldn’t see them) set up so that the President and First Lady could see a binary star in Lyra — all this while the area was lit up brighter than daylight with all the spotlights and cameras. It’s amazing if they actually saw anything! Regardless, it was an interesting video of a moment in history. Enjoy!
